: A conference on education, seeking higher budgetary allocation in the sector and opposing its commercialistaion, among other things, will be organised by Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi at Salem on August 17, its leader, Thol Thirumavalavan said today.

The conference would also oppose the prevailing commercialisation of education, he said.
