Highway pile-up: Four die in road mishap

Four persons, including three of a family, were killed in an accident on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway at Navsari in South Gujarat involving two cars, a motorcycle and a truck, police said today.

The mishap occurred last night when driver of a car heading towards Surat lost control over the vehicle, following which it hit a road divider and entered opposite lane where it collided with a truck.

When the car collided with the truck, another car hit the truck from behind while a motorcycle also rammed into that car.

The deceased included three persons travelling in the car that collided with the truck and a man riding the two-wheeler while four persons travelling in another car sustained injuries.
 

The deceased are identified as Prem Jain (50), Rohit Jain (10), Unjaben Jain (23) and Kishan Patel (25), police said.
