Actor Alec Baldwin has said his wife, Hilaria Thomas, wants him to stay away from politics as she does not want to disrupt their children's life.
The 59-year-old actor said he would have run for the office but he believed current US President Donald Trump would not let unconventional candidates contest peacefully, reported New York magazine.
"I'd consider it if I thought I'd win. But I think Trump is going to slam the door on non-traditional candidates...
"(Hilaria) has already told me she doesn't want to put our kids through that," Baldwin said.
The "SNL" actor has three children - daughter Carmen, four sons Rafael, two and Leonardo, 11 months with Thomas.
