Union Minister of state for Tribal Affairs Mansukh Vasava said that the Gujarat government is keen on developing hill station Malsamot in Narmada district as popular tourist destination.

'Malsamot' situated in Narmada district neighbouring Maharashtra and Mandya Pradesh, is a famous tourist spot in the state but government is envisaging to bring the small town on the national map to attract tourists from all over the country.

MP from Bharuch constituency, under which Narmada district falls, Vasava told reporters yesterday on sidelines of a programme Kevadiya town in Narmada district that the hill station (Malsamot) can become a spot of attraction of many tourists if roads are developed as currently people face difficulty in reaching the spot due to narrow roads in the forest area.

A survey has been carried out for widening of the roads and permission has been sought from the Environment Ministry.

The hill station is famous for the Narmada Waterfall and natural beauty and also has Sagai-Malsamot eco campsite.
