Himachal approves 10 per cent DA for Forest Corporation staff

The Himachal Pradesh government has approved 10 per cent dearness allowance for the employees of Forest Corporation.

The Board of Directors of state Forest Corporation today approved releasing an additional installment of ten per cent dearness allowance to its employees from January 1, 2014, increasing the DA of the employees from 90 per cent to 100 per cent.

Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri said this would put an additional burden of Rs 30 lakh per month on the Corporation and Rs 2.39 crore would be paid as arrears from January 1 to August 31, 2014.

The Minister said distribution of wood to tribal areas of the state has been ensured and 1,500 quintals of additional timber have been supplied to far-flung areas of Spiti from Kullu.
 

Besides, the matter regarding sending 6,000 quintals of wood to these areas is under consideration.
