A month-long budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly will commence on March 6, with Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who also holds the charge of the finance portfolio, presenting his first budget on March 9.
A notification to this effect was issued by Governor Acharya Devvrat here today.
The session ending on April 5 would have 17 working days, including two private members days, and discussions on budget would be concluded on March 16.

There would be a nine-day recess from March 17 to March 25 to enable the House committees to study the budget, the notification said.
The budget is likely to be passed on March 30. Important legislative business would be taken up during the session, it added.
