Himachal BJP leaders hailed the Railway budget for 2016-17and said that "status quo" in passenger and freight charges would help in controlling inflation and give relief to passengers.
Leader of the opposition in Vidhan Sabha, P K Dhumal said that the stability in prices would ensure growth in economy and increased budget allocations for projects in Himachal Pradesh would facilitate their early completion.
He said that Rs 100 crore have been allocated for Nangal-Talwara Railway line which was highest ever compared to allocation of Rs 128 crore from 2008-09 to 2013-14

In addition, an allocation of Rs 80 crore has been made for Chandigarh-Baddi Railway line, he said.
