The Himachal BJP today described the government's reported move to relaunch the state lottery as "unethical and immoral" and said it would firmly oppose this.
"The Chief Minister has hinted at starting online state lottery to mop up resources but this move is fraught with danger. We will oppose it," party spokesman Ganesh Dutt said.
The state lottery had ruined several homes and it was stopped due to pressure from the people, he said.

Even the state High Court had favoured scrapping of the lottery but the "government is bent on treading a ruinous path", the spokesman said.
Accusing the government of indulging in wasteful expenditure, he said instead of restoring prudent financial management, it was resorting to "unethical" practices like reintroduction of the lottery.
The spokesman said the government's debt liability had crossed Rs 35,000 crore and it was raising more loans, but no strategy had been chalked out to cut expenditure and redefine financial priorities.
