Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur visited late former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's house at Prini in Manali of Kullu district on Thursday and met his foster daughter Namita Bhattacharya and other family members.
Thakur, accompanied by his wife Sadhna Thakur and Vajpayee's family members, also visited Vashisht village on the banks of the Beas in Manali where the BJP stalwart's ashes were immersed in the river and prayers performed for the departed soul.
Later, a delegation of hoteliers association called on the chief minister and apprised him of their various demands.
The chief minister assured the delegation that the government would "sympathetically consider their genuine demands".
He also listened to the public grievances at the Manali Circuit House.
Transport and Forest Minister Govind Thakur, MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, MLA Surender Shourie, DC Yunus and SP Shalini Agnihotri were present on the occasion.
