Himachal CM presents supplementary demands for grants

Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today presented supplementary demands for grants amounting to Rs 2,102.27 crore for FY 2015-16.

The demands include Rs 1,270.40 crore under non-plan schemes, Rs 352.10 crore under Plan schemes and Rs 479.77 crore under centrally sponsored schemes.

Under the non-plan expenditure, provision of Rs 527.57 crore has been made for subsidy to HPSEB on account of roll back of tariff, Rs 157.86 crore to Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) on account of generation tariff, Rs 125.79 crore for payment of interest on loans taken by state government, Rs 60.19 crore for Police and its allied organisation, Rs 46.94 crorefor payment of compensation for construction of roads, Rs 23 crore 74 lakh for energy charges of various water supply schemes, Rs 14.55 crore for Elections of ULBs and PRIs and Rs 12.63 crore for Urban Development.
 

Major expenditure under the Plan Schemes included Rs 124.06 crore for Mid Day Meal and Grants to PTA, Rs 117.19 crore for construction of various roads, buildings and bridges, Rs 28 crore for construction of buildings of new Medical Colleges and DDU Hospital, Rs 27.87 crorefor MLA Development Fund, Rs16.10 crore under Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan for execution of developmental works in various Departments and Rs10.01 crore for Judicial Academy.

Under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, most of the expenditure is for funding ongoing or new schemes for which money has been received during the year from the Centre.

Prominent among these are Rs 69.44 crore for National Health Mission, Rs 47.09 crore Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan, Rs34.50 crore for JNNURM, Rs 31.80 crore forrepair of damaged water supply schemes, Rs 25.08 crore for purchase of Agriculture inputs, Rs 20.11 crore for Indira Aawas Yojna, Rs 21.53 crore for construction of buildings of Medical Colleges, Rs 11.06 crore for Special Nutrition Programme for SCs and STs, Rs 10.67 crore for Degree Colleges, and Rs 6.57 crore for Swachh Bharat Mission.
