Senior Congress MLA G S Bali said the announcements made by the BJP-ruled government yesterday on Independence Day would put unnecessary burden on the state treasury.
Dhumal had announced a seven per cent hike in dearness allowance to employees and pensioners at a function in Kullu along with other benefits.
Bali said Dhumal was in a rush to inaugurate various development works in the state as Assembly elections were nearing.
Incidentally, the chief minister would be inaugurating a food and craft Institute, a shopping complex, a multi-storey administrative block, a forensic lab, a police transit hostel during his visit to Dharamsala on Sunday.
