Himachal HC takes serious view of water crisis in Shimla

Concerned over the water crisis in Shimla city, HimachalHigh Court today directed the Principal Secretary andEngineer-in-Chief of Irrigation and Public health to be present in the court on May 3 next and also file a response in the matter.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on an application filed by Ramakant Sharma, senior advocate who is appointed as amicus curiae in the matter.

Sharma had brought it to the notice of the Court that the water supply in Shimla town was very less as compared to the actual demand.
