Himachal Pradesh government is mulling constructing Red Cross Bhawans and blood separation units in all the districts of the state.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister Kaul Singh Thakur today said the state would also consider taking over the services of those employees, who were giving their services to the State Red Cross Management Society for the last eight years, to Health Department against vacant posts.

The minister directed all the Deputy Commissioners to identify suitable land for construction of Red Cross Bhawan in their concerned district.

Chairing the meeting of the Society here he said that regular meetings of the society should be organised for formulating more policies for the welfare of deserving people.

"Thereafter, they would be brought under Rogi Kalyan Samitis and considered for regularisation after converting them into contract employees," the minister said.

The minister also directed the health department to ensure that Rs five lakh was set apart annually for administrative expenditure of Red Cross.

A budget of Rs 62.94 lakh was approved for the society for 2015-16.
