Himachal Pradesh braces for heavy rainfall

Heavy rainfall lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh today with the MeT office predicting torrential downpours at isolated places in the state over the coming 48 hours.

Dharamsala was the wettest place in the state with 132mm rainfall.

Dharampur in Solan district recorded showers of 31mm followed by Bangana (15mm), Shimla (10mm), Mandi (8mm) and Solan (6mm).

According to local weather officials, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the state over the coming 48 hours.

A cyclonic circulation extending upto 2.1km above sea level, which lies over southeast Rajasthan and its neighbourhood, can bring more rain to the state, they added.
