Himachal Pradesh reels under intense cold condition

Intense cold condition persisted in Himachal Pradesh, with dry spell continuing in the state in spite of overcast sky.

The high altitude areas continued to reel under biting cold conditions with minimum temperatures staying around minus six degrees Celsius.

Keylong and Kalpa in Lahaul and Spiti, and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 1.9 degrees Celsius and 1 degrees Celsius respectively, the Met department here said.

Sundernagar, Bhuntar, Manali and Solan registered minimum temperatures of 1.7 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees Celsius, 2.2 degrees Celsius and 2.5 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.

The maximum day temperatures rose marginally and Una was the hottest with a high of 26.6 degrees Celsius.
 

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region over next six days.
