Most of the link roads in high altitude areas were blocked due to heavy snowfall and tribal areas and higher reaches of Shimla, Kullu and Sirmaur districts were cut off from rest of the state.
The maximum temperatures, however, stayed close to normal due to bright sunshine in the day.
Keylong remained the coldest place in the state, where mercury settled at minus 13.1 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, Met officials said.
The maximum temperature in the district was recorded above normal at 6.4 degrees.
Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 8.8 degrees Celsius, followed by tourist resort of Manali, which shivered at minus 4.0 degrees, officials said.
While Capital Shimla recorded a minimum of 2 degrees, mercury in Bhuntar, Solan and Sundernagar settled at minus 0.3, 0.8 and 1.1 degrees Celsius.
Palampur and Saluni recorded a low of 2.5 degree each, whereas Dharamsala and Una shivered at 4.4 and 4.6 degrees respectively, three degrees below normal.
