The UGC had in its new guidelines made National Eligibility Test (NET) mandatory for appointment as Assistant Professor in Universities, Colleges and Institutions except for those who have "obtained" Ph.D degree before 2009.
However, Executive Council of the university made a deviation by allowing exemption to those who were registered for Ph.D before the deadline.
Informing the EC about the decision of Courts to fill the vacant posts in the Education department of the University, the Vice-Chancellor A D N Bajpai said that the interviews for the post had already been held on May 12 and 13 and the Executive Council authorised the Vice-Chancellor to declare the results after Model Code of Conduct for the Municipal Corporation election was over.
The Committee consisted of Prof Dhani Ram Sharma, Prof O P Chauhan, Prof Kamaljeet, R K verma, Finance Officer and Chaudhary Waryam Singh Bains.
The new proposal prepared by the Committee for resource mobilisation on the one hand and to provide job-oriented and professionally skilled employment opportunities included courses in Computer Science and Engineering.
The Council also apporved the proposal to introduce five year integrated courses under self financing scheme in the University Institute of Legal Studies, (UILS) for B A LLB (Honours) and BBA LLB (Honours).
