Stranded in Saudi Arabia after a road accident left them paralysed in October last year, two youths from Himachal Pradesh were finally able to return home today, following intervention from External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Gagan Kumar and Jitender, hailing from Chamba and Arki area in Solan districts respectively, have reached India and will undergo further treatment at Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla, family sources said.
The youths were employed with a company in Saudi Arabia and had met with an accident. They were given treatment at a hospital for a few days but later the company refused to bear the expenses and did not even facilitate their return to India.
