Hindalco, a unit of Aditya Birla Group, has come forward with a solution to the problems faced by residents of western Odisha town of Hirakud by arranging visit of specialised doctors for medical care.

The residents of the town with a population of about 45,000 had to depend on a government hospital or visit VSS Medical College in Burla for any specialised medical care.

According to Dillip Kumar Purohit, Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Hirakud, Hindalco's healthcare programme was supplementing those run by the government. Through this, people got medical facilities at their doorstep and save their money and time.

Dasarathi Dash, President, Utkal Sammilanee, Hirakud welcomed Hindalco's efforts to provide the general public with free medical consultation by specialist doctors from Burla and said people who could not go to Burla every time to avail such facilities benefited from it.
