Hindi version of 'Sarala Mahabharat' to be released at Delhi

The Hindi edition of Odia 'Sarala Mahabharat,' penned by Adikabi Sarala Das will be released at the India International Centre, Delhi on September 17, said Odisha's culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda.

The translation, a milestone initiative of Odisha Sahitya Akademy, was aimed at reaching wider readership in the Indian context, Panda said adding, the work was a unique literally document with ample testimony on the classical status of Odia language.

Besides Panda, Dr Biswanath Prasad Tiwari, president of Central Sahitya Akademy, Delhi and other celebrated scholars would grace the programme.

The book release would be followed by a seminar on 'Subaltern Voice in Contemporary Indian Fiction' in which renowned academicians and critics would present their views.
 

An exhibition-cum-sale of the works published by the Akademy was also being organised on the occasion, Panda added.
