Hindi writer Ravindra Kalia passes away

Noted Hindi writer and journalist Ravindra Kalia passed away at a private hospital here today.

He was 78.

Kalia had been suffering from liver cirrhosis, according to family sources.

Known for his works like 'Nau Saal Chotti Patni' and 'Ghalib Chutti Sharab', the former Bharatiya Jnanpith director was also the editor of several literary magazines, including Naya Gyanodaya.

His last rites will performed tomorrow at Lodhi Road.
