A Hindu outfit Bhartiya Govansh Rakshan-Sanvardhan Parishad today demanded the Centre and the state governments to set up a separate ministry for cows' protection, culture and conservation.

"Without setting up of separate ministry at the Centre and in the states, cows' protection, culture and conservation was not possible," GGRSP's national incharge and Vishwan Hindu Parishad's vice president Hukumchand Sawala said here.

He said "once the ministry was set up then a Kamdhenu university would come up, a Gochar (pasture) authority will come up, and technology concerning cows would be taught in schools and colleges affiliated with the Kamdhenu university".

There was also a need to protect pasture and barren lands for cows' conservation, he said.
