: Twenty eight Hindu Makkal Katchi actvists were detained here today when they tried to organise 'manju virattu', a type of Jallikkattu (taming the bull), which is banned in Tamil Nadu.
As the activists were making preparations in Singanallur area here, police rushed to the spot and prevented them from conducting the sport, police said.
They were released later in the evening.
