RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat today said Hindu society can lead the world as it is characterised by the unity in diversity.

"The world has tested various thoughts and ideologies but they all have failed as they could not assimilate all the people," Bhagwat said addressing 'Samarsata Sangamm, a public meeting at new Monda near here.

Observing that Hindutva is the basis of "unity" of India, Bhagwat said the world recognises the country as the Hindu society, which he said is the identity of India.

"In the light of diversity, we Hindus can cherish our own identity while becoming part of a larger identity. A Hindu does not believe in caste, what people eat, what they speak, what they worship...," he said.

He said if the Hindu society wants to show the way to the world, "we should first create power".

"Power can be created if we are united as the Hindu society. Power should not be misused and should not be used to exploit others," Bhagwat said.

He said the Hindu society believes in casteless existence and even the Constitution guarantees same things like equality and brotherhood.

Referring to Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bhagwat said the Dalit icon too had stressed equality and brotherhood.

Bhagwat said foreigners invaded India and they too became part of the Hindu society.

"Their way of worship is different but they are the same as we are," the Sangh chief said.

He rued prevailing castism in the society which has been rooted since long.

"RSS is trying to create a casteless society and eradicate exploitation," he said.
