Hindustan Copper shares up over 3% as Q3 profit doubles

Shares of Hindustan Copper today rose by 3 per cent after its standalone net profit nearly doubled in the quarter ended December 31, 2016.

The stock jumped 3.03 per cent to end at Rs 69.70 on BSE. During the day, it went up by 5.98 per cent to Rs 71.70.

At NSE, shares of the company surged 3.33 per cent to close at Rs 69.80.

On the volume front, 12.70 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 58 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.

State-run Hindustan Copper today reported a standalone net profit of Rs 16.8 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2016, against that of Rs 8.3 crore in the year-ago period.
 

The standalone income from operations of the company increased to Rs 248.6 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 227.6 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
