Hindustan Media Ventures (HMVL) today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 44.8 crore and total income of Rs 261.9 crore for the first quarter to June.
The corresponding figures in the previous fiscal were Rs 48.7 crore and Rs 259.28 crore, HMVL said in a BSE filing.
However, the company said, financial results for the June quarter are not comparable with those of the previous year as the former does not include the expenses of an entity that has discontinued operations.

HMVL is into printing and publication of newspapers and periodicals, including Hindi daily Hindustan.
The stock was trading at Rs 282.50 on the BSE, down 1.33 per cent from its previous close.
