Hindustan Zinc will be sponsoring Poonia for two years as she begins her medal hunt at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, South Korea and Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, Scotland.
Poonia, who was conferred the Arjuna Award in 2010 and Padma Sri Award in 2011, will sign the MoU on Thursday in Udaipur, according to a release here.
"Vedanta's group company Hindustan Zinc is sponsoring me and I am very happy that corporates like Vedanta are promoting sports persons," said Poonia, who is a two-times Asian Games Medalist at Doha in 2006 and Guangzhou, China in 2010.
Poonia is coached by her husband Virander Poonia, who is also a Dronacharya Awardee.
