The surgeries performed at Sant Parmanand Hospital here by Dr Shekhar Agarwal and Dr Allan Gross from Toronto were beamed live to educate and share experience with medical fraternity.
While the first operation was a revision surgery performed on 57-year-old Madhuri from Jhansi who had already gone through fourdifferent replacement surgeries, the second case was that of Girish (36) from Delhi who was operated upon for the first time.
The live telecast of surgeries started from 9:00 AM and was followed by two-hour live video-conferencing discussions with orthopaedic surgeons, resident doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, according to a release.
Dr Gross, Professor, University of Toronto, said, "I feel privileged to be part of such an innovative and knowledge inducing event and sharing platform with such talented medical professionals from India."
