Hisar Agri Varsity institutes lifetime achievement award

A lifetime achievement award has been instituted by the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University Hisar to recognize the lifelong contributions of its faculty members.

The award carrying a plaque of honour, citation and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh would be biennial, the University Vice Chancellor Dr K S Khokhar said today.

It would be conferred upon faculty members who have achieved excellence in their field of study, followed high standards of values and ethics throughout their career and made outstanding contributions of significant impact in the fields related to agriculture, he said.

Regarding nomination for the award, Khokhar said that a candidate who is above 60 years of age on December 31 of the second year of the biennium of the award, and has served for at least 20 years as faculty of CCSHAU, would be eligible.
 

He said the award would be presented at a university level function.

Khokhar said that a scheme for awarding incentive to scientists of the university who win research grants from external agencies has also been envisaged.

Under the scheme, an appreciation certificate would be given to the scientists who got a research grant of Rs 25 lakh or below per year, he said.

Similarly, the scientists winning research grant between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 50 lakh would be conferred an application certificate and an honorarium of Rs 20,000.

Whereas, an appreciation certificate along with an honorarium of Rs 40,000 would be presented to the scientists bagging research grant of above Rs 50 lakh per year, he added.
