Hisar hottest at 42C in Haryana, Punjab

The mercury reached the 42- degree mark in Hisar as residents in Haryana and Punjab braved hot weather today.

Hisar's maximum was five notches above normal limits. Ambala recorded a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius, up three notches, the weather report said.

Union Territory of Chandigarh also sweltered at 38.3 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a high of 39.1 degrees Celsius and 39.3 degrees Celcius, respectively. Amritsar had a high of 38.2 degrees Celsius.

The weather is likely to remain dry in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days, the MeT forecast said.
