Hisar hottest at 43.8 C as heat wave sweeps Hry & Pb

With maximum temperatures registering a sharp increase in the plains, heat wave today swept most places in Haryana and Punjab, with Hisar sweating it out at 43.8 degrees Celsius.

While Hisar was hotter by three notches against normal, Narnaul also braved a hot day at 42 degrees Celsius, up two notches.

Bhiwani sizzled at 41.8 degrees, three degrees above normal while Karnal's maximum settled at 41.8 degrees Celsius, up four notches, the MeT Department report said here.

Ambala recorded a high of 40 degrees Celsius, up two degrees than normal.

As the mercury started to climb since yesterday, Chandigarh residents also experienced a hot day at 40.2 degrees, which was the season's hottest so far.
 

Amritsar in Punjab also braved the hot weather recording a high of 42.5 degrees, five notches more than normal.

Ludhiana had a maximum of 42 degrees, up three notches while Patiala's maximum settled at 41.4 degrees, also three notches above normal.
