Indian business tycoon Gautam Singhania secured a historic double podium finish over the weekend at the prestigious Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 in Monza, Italy.

The chairman and managing director of Raymonds Group finished third in his category - Coppa Shell in both race 1 and race 2 and had qualified 4th and 3rd respectively.

The Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 started this month and is also endorsed by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

Commenting on the win, Singhania said: "It is a proud moment for me to secure a double podium finish at the first race of this prestigious Ferrari event. It has been a dream weekend for me as this was a big challenge and have set my sights on the Championship and World Finals 2015."

The race 2 in the Coppa Shell category had Erich Prinoth snatching the lead from Thomas Loefflad (Stilef Squadra Corse), while Kessel Racing's Singhania drove exceptionally well, maintaining an authoritative hold on the third position he had earlier earned in qualifying. Prinoth won with a 1.074 seconds lead over Loefflad and 9.6 over Singhania.

The entire season comprises 15 races with two races a weekend, spread over six weekends mainly at Monza, Imola, Mugello (Italy), Le Castellet (France), Valencia (Spain) and Budapest (Hungary).
