American director Alfred Hitchcock's nail-biting psychological thrillers and Italian- American filmmaker Frank Capra's romantic dramas will be revisited on the big screen at an upcoming movie festival here.

"Classic Movie Festival" set to begin from May 27, will showcase memorable films from Hollywood's golden age, including Hitchcock's "Vertigo" and Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life" among others.

Organised by production house, Navrasa Duende, the two- day film festival to be held at Siri Fort Auditorium here, seeks to promote cinematic arts while promising a visual delight for cinema lovers.

"Over the years, classic films have had a great influence on film-making and movie culture. The classics are a great way to get a sneak peek into another era and also show how not only cinema and its styles have changed with acting methods, sound, and effects, but also how society's cultural values have transformed.

This is evident in the stories and plot themes of these films that delve into the nature of the human spirit," Dinesh B Singh, founder of Navrasa Duende said.

Through collaboration with esteemed artists and veteran performers, the production house says it will be organising similar annual events in future to celebrate films and film- makers from around the world.
