Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) today criticised the state's move to shift "tainted" officials from sensitive posts, and said there was no dearth of good officers who have not been given adequate work.

The party urged the government to remove all the tainted officials from sensitive posts to break the nexus between corrupt officers, politicians and capitalists for providing transparent governance, a resolution adopted at a meeting chaired by state party chief Maheshwar Singh said.

The party criticised the government for giving "extension in service and re-employment" in an indiscriminate manner to a large number of retiring employees without any cogent reason and said it was "committing fraud against unemployed youth".

This policy was also depriving a large number of employees from getting promotions, it said.

The party also expressed it concern over virtual collapse of Public Distribution System (PDS) and said the people were facing great hardship due to non-availability of foodgrains and other essential items at ration depots.

This, the party said, was adding to the woes of the people who were already reeling under the effect of hiked bus fares, forcing people to adopt the path of agitation.

Party president said the HLP would formulate its future strategy after declaration of poll results in five states so as to emerge as a viable alternate to BJP and Congress.

Party spokesamn Tikku Thakur said a mass contact programme would be launched from December 10 to December 31 to strengthen the party.
