Addressing a press conference, party spokesman Mahinder Nath Sofat said under the Atal Swasthya scheme, the state government signed an MoU with a Madhya Pradesh company and introduced 108 ambulance services.

He alleged that the documents received through RTI revealed that the funds for the scheme are being provided under the National Rural Health Scheme and prima facie hinted towards certain irregularities which could be brought to light only through a CBI probe.

Sofat alleged that 100 ambulances were purchased from a company in Madhya Pradesh and tax to the tune of over 16 lakh was paid there even when the dealer of the company had its branches in the state.

Replying to a question, he denied that negotiations are on with the the BJP and refuted the statement of the state party president Satpal Satti in this regard.

Replying to another question, he said that the party was keeping equal distance from the Congress and BJP and strengthening itself to emerge as third alternative.

The state executive of the party would hold a meeting at Mandi on April 28 to chalk out strategy to strengthen the party in every district, he said adding that party has already launched a membership drive to achieve the target enrolling 1 lakh members.
