HLP gets 'telephone' as symbol for Himachal polls

The commission also directed the concerned Returning Officers to allot the common symbol to its candidates as per law.

District election officer of Kangra K R Bharti made the official announcement in this regard.

Meanwhile, party convener Maheshwar Singh released a list of 26 names for the polls.

Beside Singh the list includes names of Dullo Ram, Shyama Sharma and Naveen Dhiman, Balbir Chaudhary, KD Dharmani, Babu Ram Mandyal, all former MLAs.

Two days ago, sitting BJP MLA from Rohroo Khushi Ram Balnatah had announced his resignation from the party to contest the election on a HLP ticket.

The candidates are Dullo Ram (Palampur), Naveen Dhiman (Pragpur), Durgesh Pal (Dehra), Balbir Chaudary (Shahpur), Ravinder Inddi (Jwali), Bachchan Singh (Jaisinghpur), Deepak Nag (Sulha), KD Dharmani (Ghumarwin) Daulat Ram (Bilaspur), Kashmir Chand Jamwal (Janduta) Babu Ram Mandyal (Naudaun), Satish Banyal (Barsar), Ninju Ram (Rampur).

 

Other names include O P Kant (Solan), Maheshwer Singh (Kullu), Nand Lal (Ani), Veer Chand Thakur (Manali), Shyama Sharma (Nahan), Ram Lal (Paonta Sahib), Ram Lok (Chintpurni), Sunita Kheryal (Kutlehar), Narender Parmar (Gagret), Harish Sharma (Mandi Sadar), Netra Sungh (Balh) Kapil Dev (Dhrang), Khushi Ram Balnatah (Kasumpati).
