S Girish Kumar was today given six months extension, till August this year, to hold additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of HMT Ltd, State-owned iconic watch makers.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved extension of additional charge of the post of CMD, HMT Ltd, assigned to Kumar, Managing Director, HMT International Limited for a further period of six months with effect from March 1, 2016 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
The HMT Ltd was incorporated in 1953 by the Government of India as a machine tool manufacturing company. Over the years it has diversified into watches, tractors and printing machinery, among others.
