A hoax telephone call that a bomb had been planted in a school in sector 50 today sent police on high alert in Noida.

Around 12:30 pm, the anonymous caller made the hoax call at the landline number of Kothari Public School here, Senior Superintendent of Police Preetinder Singh said.

The caller claimed that a bomb had been planted inside the school premises, the police official said.

The school management brought the issue to the knowledge of police. Dog squads and bomb disposal squads were rushed to the institution and scanned the building and surrounding areas, Singh said.

PAC team was also deployed in and around the school premises.

"120 students who were taking exams in the school were safely brought out of the premises, despite the thorough checking nothing was found," Singh said.

Efforts were being made to trace the number from which the hoax call was made, the police official said.
