Hockey Olympian, Ace Archer among sports stalwarts honoured on

Hockey Olympian Sylvanus Dungdung and ace archer Deepika Kumari were among the sports stalwarts who were presented with five lakh rupees on the occasion of the 17th Jharkhand Foundation Day today.

Archer Laxmi Rani Manjhi and hockey Olympian Niki Pradhan also got the prize money for their laudable contribution.

The sportspersons, who brought laurels to the state, were honoured in presence of Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu, Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers welfare Sudarshan Bhagat, Speaker Dinesh Oraon and cabinet ministers.
Symbolic distribution of appointment letters was also
 

taken up following the appointment of 600 junior engineers, 250 health staff of National Health Mission, 25,000 Sakhia - working in the nutrition areas and 375 Rozgar Sevaks.

A total 2000 Self help group mates were given mate-kit and selection letters while 5000 people were given forest pattas.

Some people were symbolically given medicated mosquito net out of a total 35 lakh long lasting mosquito nets to mark the day.
