HoD suspended for misconduct by JK govt

The former Principal of the Government Medical College here has been placed under suspension for alleged misconduct by the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Zahid Hussain Gilani, HoD of Pharmacology department, Government Medical College (GMC) was suspended last night for forcibly entrying the office and occupying the chair of Principal.

Gilani was transfered from the post of Principal and Sunanda Raina was posted as In-charge Principal of GMC, Jammu on March 13.

"Pending enquiry into alleged misconduct in premises of GMC Jammu, Zahib Hussain Gilani is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect," Commissioner Secretary to the government, Health and Medical Education department, M K Bhandari said in an order.
 

The state government has also constituted a three-member committee to probe the charges against Gilani and submit its report with specific recommendations within 10 days.
