Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today directed government officials to hold meeting with Resident Welfare Associations regularly to collect their feedback to strengthen citizen-government partnership.

Dikshit instructed Deputy Commissioners (Revenue) to hold monthly meeting with the RWAs concerned on regular basis in order to mould the functioning of the government on the basis of the response received from the citizens.

She was interacting with the RWA representatives during a workshop organised to bring awareness on time-bound delivery of public services.

She said her government values the feedback received from the citizens.

"The time-bound delivery of services is a tool to overcome unnecessary delay in government offices and make its functioning smooth and well-oiled to ensure timely delivery of public services," she said.

It was introduced in country for the first time in Delhi. The citizens are now empowered to get their services within a stipulated time-period failing which the erring employees were liable to fined at Rs 10 per day for the delay.

The aggrieved applicant is entitled to get the compensation in cash immediately out of amount collected as fine from the employees.

The Delhi government has disposed 55 lakh applications seeking delivery of public services in 24 departments or agencies. More than 51 lakh applicants were satisfied with the timely delivery of public services.

The government has placed 116 services under the ambit of e-SLA. It intends to extend the ambit of e-SLA at the earliest.
