Holders Haryana face RSPB in final of women's national hockey

Defending Champions Haryana will face Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) in the title clash of the fourth Hockey India Senior Women National Championship (Division A) at Aish Bagh stadium tomorrow.

While Haryana triumphed over Jharkhand with a handsome 7-3 margin win in the first semi-final, RSPB thrashed Punjab 11-1 in the next last-four match.

In the first semi-final, Navneet Kaur (13th, 44th, 67th) scored a hattrick for Haryana, while the other goals came from the sticks of Manjit Kaur (11th), Navjot Kaur (31st), Ritu Rani (60th) and Bharti (63rd).

For Jharkhand, Poonam Barla (10th, 33rd) scored two goals while the other was scored by Binita Xess (38th).
 

In the second semi-final, Th Chanchan (47th, 51st, 58th, 59th) scored four goals including a hattrick for RSPB, while Jasjeet Kaur (27th, 55th), Poonam Rani (29th, 69th) and Anupa Barla (32nd, 64th) sounded the board twice each. Rani (31st) also register her name in the scoresheet for the winners.

Punjab's lone goal was scored by Gurjit Kaur in the 39th minute.
