Homage paid to police personnel

Nagaland today honoured 434 police personnel, who had sacrificed their lives during the period September 1, 2014 to August 31 this year.

Nagaland Home Minister Y Patton and Director General of Police L L Doungel led the state in paying floral tribute and homage to the slain personnel for their supreme sacrifice for the security and safety of the people of the country during the interim period.

The DGP read out the roll of honour of the 434 police personnel, including Constables Moakumzum Ao and Kebioba Yimchungru, during the Police Commemoration Day Parade at Police New Reserve, Phesama, few kilometers away from the state capital.
 

The police chief also called the personnel in uniform to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the people.

Senior officers from the state police and SIB also laid wreath at the martyrs' cenotaph.
