Punjab vigilance bureau today arrested two home guard jawans for allegedly extorting money from a man and threatening to implicate him in a false case.

Home guards Sukhdev Singh and Nirmal Singh were arrested today for extorting Rs 15,000 from the complainant, a resident of Mehmadpur Jatta village here on the pretext of exposing his alleged relations with a woman, an official spokesman said.

The complainant alleged that the accused masquerading as police officers were blackmailing him to upload his picture with the woman on internet and threatened to implicate him in false case, he said.

They had clicked his pictures with the woman who had taken a lift from him on March 28, when he was on his way from Sadhugarh to Amloh, the spokesman said quoting the victim.
