A home guard was killed and police constable seriously injured when a bike in which they were travelling collided with a speeding truck at Shamli, police said today.
Ramkumar Saini was killed and Charansingh seriously injured when their bike collided with the speeding truck yesterday, they said.
The incident took place when security personals were on duty, Deputy Superintendent of Police Nishank Sharma said.
In another incident, a 55-year-old vegetable grower was killed and 12 others were injured when a truck in which they were travelling turned over and fell into a ditch at Budhana in the district, police said.
The incident took place yesterday when the vegetable growers were returning from Mandi after selling their crops, they said, adding the injured have been shifted to a hospital.
