A Home Guard who was missing since last month was found dead at Matheri village in the district, police said today.
Manoj Kumar, posted at Khatoli police station was missing since January 17 and his body was found near the canal bridge here yesterday, they said.
According to the preliminary investigations, it seems Kumar was strangulated to death, they added.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a labourer was shot dead at Khairana town in Shamli district.
Saleem (27) was shot dead yesterday by unidentified miscreants, police said.
A case has been registered in this connection. The reasons behind the murders are still unknown and investigation into the cases are on, they said.
