Home Guard platoon commander arrested on bribery charges

Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a platoon commander of Home Guard Karan Puri for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from a Home Guard for extending his contract in Barmer district, an official spokesperson said here.

Maggaram, volunteer of Border Home Guard E-company, filed a complaint against Puri who demanded Rs 3000 as bribe for accepting former's application for extension of contract period, the spokesperson said.

The accused was arrested red handed at his office when complainant offered him the bribe in presence of ACB sleuths in plain clothes, she said.

A case under prevention of corruption act was lodged against Puri, who is also holding charge of Company Commander, she said.
