State Home Minister G Parameshwara launched a total of 25 new hi-tech patrolling vehicles belonging to the Mangaluru city police, at a function held here today.
The Minister said, the vehicles were equipped with all modern amenities including GPS devices.
They would improve the response time and enable the police to reach any spot of trouble quicker, he said.

Bengaluru had 362 new patrolling vehicles and the department plans to introduce new vehicles in Belagavi, Mysuru and Hubballi.
Speaking after inaugurating the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Parameshwara said the ideals and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda should be an inspiration to the youth. MLAs' Moidin Bava, JR Lobo, MLC Ganesh Karnik, City Police Commissioner Chandra Shekhar, and other police officers were present.
