Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has been apprised about the bomb attacks, including the one in which an undertrial was killed, in the UT and he conceded his plea for deputing a high ranking official to review the law and order situation, the minister said.
"Joint Secretary to the Home Ministry would soon camp in Puducherry and hold discussions with the officials of the territorial administration and review the law and order situation," Narayanasamy, who represents Puducherry in Lok Sabha, said.
He said he had already urged officials like the IGP and DIG here to act with a firm hand and ensure that people did not lose faith in the system.
Puducherry was rocked by three bomb incidents this month. Various leaders have flayed the AINRC government led by N Rangasamy for failure to ensure law and order.
