An eight-month-old girl died after she was allegedly administered a wrong injection by a homoeopath at his clinic here, police said today.

Following the incident last night, police today registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under section 304 of IPC against Dr Girish Maheshwari on the basis of the complaint lodged by the girl's father Puran Baragi, said Superintendent of Police Dipak Verma.

Maheshwari is yet to be arrested.

The girl, identified as Kamna, died last night, apparently due to a reaction caused after administering a wrong injection by Maheshwari at his clinic in Patandev area under Kotwali police station limits.

Meanwhile, sub-divisional magistrate Buta Singh, who is investigating the case on the direction of district collector Anuraj Choudhary, visited Maheshwari's clinic and recovered huge quantity of allopathic medicines, following which the clinic was sealed.

Ironically, a 13-year-old boy had died eight months back allegedly after Maheshwari administered him a wrong injection.

The SP said this incident will also be probed.

The deceased, identified as Manoj was son of one Gajraj Singh, a resident of Kamka village in the district.
